Description
This Mental Math packet works alongside any math curriculum or program. It is intended to provide additional, highly-targeted support to help students work towards greater proficiency in accessing math facts in multiplication. It includes over 90 pages of resources that enable you to:
- plan for 4 weeks of fact fluency work for approximately 15 to 20 minutes a day
- lay conceptual foundations with the CRA (concrete-representational-abstract) framework
- engage students in Strategy Shares to identify the different strategies they are using to solve math facts problems
- identify where students may be working along the fact fluency progression (direct modeling -> counting strategies -> derived facts -> automaticity
- provide students with targeted practice activities to help move them along the fluency progression towards automaticity
- assess and monitor progress along the way to celebrate growth
