This bundle includes everything you need for a fun and engaging unit on measurement using the metric system. Throughout the unit students are exposed to various metric measurements and tools such as a ruler, triple-beam balance, scale, test tubes, and beakers. Students start the unit with an inquiry activity to assess prior knowledge and misconceptions and allows students the opportunity to update their answers once the unit is complete in order to show growth and understanding. The PowerPoint presentation is accompanied with a guided note sheet that is color-coded to make the note-taking process easier for students while they are learning about the metric system. Each activity in the bundle focuses on a different area of measurement (length, mass, and volume being the main topics) that students learned in the PowerPoint and is followed up with analysis and conclusion questions. Labs and practice activities provide students the opportunity to understand how to measure with given experiments they actually carry-out themselves. The bundle includes multiple activities that can be used as either warm-ups, class work, or homework. The various activities in this bundle include both independent and collaborative work for students to explore and demonstrate learning. Overall, this bundle focuses on the metric system, how to measure accurately, as well as how to use science tools when measuring.
