Description
The Metric System Centers activity is designed for students to transition through stations in groups to learn and explore the metric system. Each station is setup in a way that does not require the students to move through them in a specific order.
This product is great for teachers using interactive notebooks in their classrooms. The note-taking foldable included in this product is setup for ease-of-use for both the teacher and student.
Detailed descriptions of this product:
- Task Sheets (p. 2-5): there are task sheets for students to learn about Base Units, S.I. Prefixes, Length, Mass, Liquid Volume, Box-Shaped Solid Volume, and Irregular-Shaped Solid Volume. The task sheets are written in a way that groups should be able to independently move through the task without much guidance or instruction from the teacher.
- Note-Taking Foldable (p. 7-12): this foldable will work wonders with your interactive notebook! It is setup in a way where you just need to print out the pages, and make double-sided copies of the document in order. Cut the sheets in half (length-wise) and have the students bring around their foldables with them as they rotate through the stations. Once done with each station, the teacher can quickly check their answers, and then students will glue them into their notebooks. These foldables will help students stay organized, and will make the information easy to find in the future.
This activity is setup to work in conjunction with our S.I. System PowerPoint notes, which is available as a free product on our TPT store. Here's the link: http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/SI-System-PowerPoint-Notes-833929
