Context:

We have a diverse community at our school, which means we will inevitably have moments of curiosity, tension, and even conflict as our community members get to know one another, engage in campus life, and build community. These moments can be learning opportunities, but it is important to be culturally aware, respectfully curious, and to honor the power of words in our daily interactions with each other. When we aren’t, even unconsciously, we can commit microaggressions, which cause harm.

This lesson will help us continue our engagement with and practice of empathy.
