Description
This unit bundle will help you teach loops (do-while, for, repeat) with the microbit circuit board in a fun, easy, understandable and zero-prep style. It includes coding lessons, activities, and an interesting project.
This bundle includes:
- Three different introductory resources - for the "for" loop, for the "repeat" loop and for the "do-while loop. Each resource includes a theoretical part with easy to understand explanations, coding examples and screenshots, and afterwards - a couple of practical coding tasks with detailed explanations, hints and answer keys
- An exercises resource full of different coding tasks for the different types of loops - all with explanations, hints, screenshots and answer keys
- An interesting project - a more complicated coding task on loops, explained in a detailed step-by-step way with screenshots and an answer key
This resource is suitable for:
- both microbit v1 and v2 are suitable, no restrictions
Materials required:
- a Micro:bit (both v1 and v2 are suitable) circuit board, its USB cable, battery cage and some batteries - one set for each student
- a computer/laptop - one for each student
How to teach with this bundle: (Just follow this order)
1. The "for" loop resource
2. The "repeat" loop resource
3. The "do-while" loop resource
4. The resource with the 3 exercise coding tasks
5. The loops coding exercise project
6. Assessment time - just use one of the many many coding tasks throughout all of those resources, give the students a set amount of time and expect to see a working program at the end of the lesson to mark the students' work and assess their knowledge
The bundle is suitable for beginners (in microbit block coding) of all ages.
