Description

This ready-to-use High School Sub Plan worksheet, adapted from my Microscopes resource, helps students develop their understanding of how microscopy has developed over time through clear explanations and structured activities.

Designed for independent learning, it supports smooth delivery during teacher absences and requires minimal input from a substitute or non-specialist teacher. The worksheet is fully editable, allowing you to tailor it to your students and the time available.

This is the 1st in a series of lessons and covers the content from the AQA GCSE 4.1.1 Cell structure & 4.1.3 Transport in cells topics and OUP Kerboodle Scheme B1.1, The world of the microscope lesson.

While primarily written for UK students using British English spellings and vocabulary, the core content and activities can be easily adapted for students in other countries with similar educational systems.

Resource includes:

  • Teacher guide: Clear instructions on what to print and any additional items needed (e.g., graph paper or coloured pencils).
  • Answer sheet: Complete answers to support substitute teachers in assisting students.
  • Student worksheet:
