Step-by-step directions (95 slides) on how to use formulas to make calculations using football statistics. The lesson includes:
- Basic formatting skills such as word wrapping text in a cell and drawing boxes around cells,
- How to sort data,
- Writing formulas to determine net receiving yards, average number of carries per game, average number of yards gained per game, and the percentage of total yards that each player contributed to the season.
- Using the formula builder to quickly calculate the sum totals and the overall averages for this data. They also calculate the standard deviation for their averages.
- Practicing writing formulas with a new sheet of data.
- TEST where students are given a new set of data and directions for what sort of calculations they must program the sheet to make (directions and grading rubric included).
