Description

"How Tall is the "Average" Seventh Grader?" is a worksheet that requires students to gather data and calculate all the measures of central tendency based on the students height. I had four stations in the room set up where students first measured how tall they were in inches and then recorded their data. The project can be started in class and finished for homework, or take two class periods. You can also compare the data from all the different classes or combine them for better rests!

They must also graph the following based on their data:
-Stem-and-Leaf Plot
-Box-and-whisker Plot
-Line Plot
-Frequency Table
-Histogram
-Scattergrams/Scatterplots

and answer questions based on the graphs they make!

Great review or project idea to end the seventh grade statistics unit. Can also be modified for different grade levels.
