I have been a Middle School teacher for many years. I have taught at the Maui Ohana Collective, a Waldorf inspired co-op and I teach math at several home school pods on Maui. I am a tutor at the Jamie York Math Academy for grades 5-9 and teach private students in person and via Zoom.

Included in the book, you will find games, puzzles and practice sheets that have helped many of my students over the years to develop a thorough understanding and solid foundation in math in preparation for High School. This is not a text book with lessons but a math book with engaging, real-life related assignments and projects to practice material already covered in class. These exercises are not rote skill drills but actually require students to think on their own.

Eventually, each activity in this book will be linked to a YouTube video if you need further instructions or, I am available for private or small group tutoring if your student needs extra support in mastering middle school math subjects.

My son has used this resource for more than a year and math is now his greatest strength. He has grown from being slow and lacking self-confidence (and, consequently, interest) in math to being a quick processor and loving math. He is now in 7th grade at an international/American school, and he is one of the strongest math students in his grade. We are also using the resource for our daughter, who is in 5th grade. Both children have mild learning differences - dyslexia, ADHD and slower processing. This book makes math interesting and relevant and helps our children fully understand the concepts. We could not be more pleased.
