Description

This bundle includes the third and fourth lessons in the Math 1 Geometry Unit as well as a distance and midpoint formula scavenger hunt.

In the lessons, the students will learn how to:
~find the midpoint of a segment given the endpoints of the segment,
~find an endpoint to a segment given its midpoint and the other endpoint,
~use the midpoint formula to solve problems involving the diameter, radius, and center of the circle.
~find the length of a segment given the endpoints of the segment,
~use the distance formula to solve problems involving the diameter and radius of a circle.

The scavenger hunt includes 20 questions on the topics listed above and allows the students to review the distance and midpoints formulas in a fun way!

The download for this bundle includes two lessons with guided notes (with examples and class work problems), an answer key to the guided notes, a SMART Notebook presentation that corresponds with the guided notes and a "Ticket out the Door" that can be used as a formative assessment. This download also includes a 20 question scavenger hunt with a student answer sheet and a teacher answer key.

Use coordinates to prove simple geometric theorems algebraically. For example, prove or disprove that a figure defined by four given points in the coordinate plane is a rectangle; prove or disprove that the point (1, √3) lies on the circle centered at the origin and containing the point (0, 2).
Find the point on a directed line segment between two given points that partitions the segment in a given ratio.
