Description

As a teacher we want to promote critical thinking and writing skills. DBQ's (Document Based Questioning) are a great way to encourage the growth of these two skills. However, a full DBQ can be daunting, especially if you or your class has never done a full DBQ.

A DBQ Mini is a creative method to introduce and model DBQs.

DBQ Minis also encourage/sharpen critical thinking and writing skills. They are great for warm-ups, close activities, quiz replacement or checking for understanding on a topic. A DBQ Mini is also flexible and can take only part or all of a class depending on your needs.

Finally, DBQ Minis are best used after background information/topic is introduced and familiar to the students, preferably at the middle or end of a unit.

Check out the preview. The actual product is a PowerPoint.

Other Mini DBQs:

Mini DBQ: Imperialism Causes

Mini DBQ: Imperialism Effects

Mini DBQ: Alexander the Great
