Description
This highly engaging Sequencing Mini-Lesson introduces (or builds upon/reinforces/extends) the concept of story sequencing and the importance it plays in both reading and writing. In this PowerPoint, students learn key sequencing vocabulary beyond the basic “first,” “next,” “then,” and “last” using various original short passages and sequencing pictorial essays. Included is an optional connection lesson. As they follow along, students are encouraged create their own list of sequencing words in their notebooks/journals or on a separate sheet of paper. In all, students will have access to over 50 sequencing vocabulary words in this presentation, but most certainly will be able to add to this list as they diver deeper into this skill and language arts standard.
Extend this mini-lesson by having them sort those words into time and order and transition categories.
