Description

This is a script for a daily oral activity designed to encourage participation by all students and increase confidence to speak fluently. There are 2 levels: junior and intermediate. The questions use common, everyday vocabulary. The script goes with the student pages.

I usually start the year off with this but it's never too late to start! After the first week where I model the role of the "professeur", I cycle through the class and everyone gets to be the "mini professeur". This activity can be done in front of a calendar and weather poster or students can have that information in their books as a resource. The learning goal for students is to speak daily, but for teachers it's an opportunity to observe individuals and track participation.

Once this warm up is set up it is an easy activity for supply teachers to run in a class even if they don't speak French.
