Keep track of all missing assignments. Remember the agreement between yourself and the student about the time it is due. Learn why the student didn't complete the assignment. Were they struggling but didn't ask for help? Home sick? Were they pulled from class by administrators? Some excuses are legitimate and others not so much, but no matter the reason, if you decide to extend the due date for this student, do it with an agreement!
