Do your students need practice finding the factors of a given number? Get your students practicing math skills with a low/no-prep, self checking, digital or paper center activity. Math Ladders can be used a partner work, but are designed for independent practice on specific skills. Each packet includes a single skill on a variety of different levels to make differentiation easier for you, the teacher. Just keep the table of contents handy and assign students to work (or move up or down in the skill level) on the one they need.
To play, students solve the problem on the START card. They find the answer on the left side of one of the other cards and place it above their original problem. Then, they solve the problem on their new card and continue until they reach the top FINISH card.
To Set up as a Center:
-Print game boards for each person at the center
-Print enough sets for each person at the center, cut apart & keep in a snack-sized baggie
-Print answer sheets for each student
-Print one answer key to keep at the center (if you want them to check their answers)
Alternatively, you can print a class set of the game boards & the cards and have students cut & paste their assignment.

In this set, students are given a number and the list of factors for that number. However, one factor is missing. Students must solve to find the missing factor. Sets A-C include a missing factor that is between 1 and 9. Sets D-G increase to include the 12s. (1s are eliminated.) Sets H & I use larger numbers and the missing factor must now be solved for using division. Set J requires division to be used to solve for all of the missing factors as none of the answers are less than 13.
For Example:
48: 1, 2, 3, __, 6, 8, 12, 16, 24, 48
In sets A-C, the 6 may be missing. In sets D-G the 12 may be missing. And in sets H-J, the 24 may be missing.

Set 11.1 G - Missing Factor is a Basic Fact (2-12)
Set 11.1 H - Missing Factor may be above 12 (2-50)
Set 11.1 I - Missing Factor may be above 12 (2-50)
Set 11.1 J - Missing Factor is above 13 (13-50)
Find all factor pairs for a whole number in the range 1-100. Recognize that a whole number is a multiple of each of its factors. Determine whether a given whole number in the range 1-100 is a multiple of a given one-digit number. Determine whether a given whole number in the range 1-100 is prime or composite.
