Description
Converting improper fractions to mixed numbers and mixed numbers to improper fractions is the focus of this self-checking, digital Truth or Dare math game. This game provides an engaging, easy way to review concepts, as a whole class, in small groups, or independently.
Playing the game:
The game begins with a Truth grid and Dare grid that allow students to select questions and self-check answers as they navigate through 36 question cards and 36 answer cards in Google Slides.
- If you aren't using Google in your classroom but can access the Google link, you can download as a PPT and use in the same way.
Students can choose to answer a "truth," which is a true or false question that addresses:
- vocabulary
- basic improper fraction & mixed number concepts
OR a "dare," which would be a more challenging question having students:
- compare mixed numbers and improper fractions (includes word problems)
- convert from mixed numbers to improper fractions
- convert from improper fractions to mixed numbers
