Students are given an incomplete data table listing the number of protons, electrons and neutrons for 5 different elements. They must first identify each of the elements and the subatomic particles. Using colored marshmallows, a paper plate, and a marker students create 5 model edible atoms. Lesson includes STEM Lab with constructed responses, an exit ticket, and answer keys.
