Description
A 35 slide PPT presentation to help students become more proficient at using pattern blocks to model fractional amounts. Cover how much of a whole each of the four blocks represents, how to combine models to write a fraction, and how to exchange pattern blocks of two types for one type. This was created to accompany my hands on lesson on modeling fractions and is a great introductory resource for this purpose. It helps develop the visual understanding needed for when we add/subtract like and unlike fractions.
Includes slides on numerator and denominator, a chant for numerator and denominator, and how to write fractions.
