Description
This lesson is the FOURTH lesson in my Money Management Unit and is designed to follow lesson 3 on Income, but can be used independently as all figures are provided. The lesson explores expenses, types of expenses, calculating for sinking funds, common teen expenses, common teen money problems, and how to avoid those money problems.
The lesson includes discussion topics, questions to consider, realities to consider, expense-related vocabulary, example expense calculations, a blank expense calculation sheet for students, and external resource links. This lesson takes about 30 minutes to teach if presented as an interactive discussion lesson.
This lesson can be used as a single lesson or used in conjunction with my other Personal Finance lessons. This PDF file can be printed, projected, shared with students, and uploaded to your Google Classroom. It would also work well as an independent study lesson or for remote learning.
