Description

Your students will have a blast using their math skills to uncover these fun and colorful monster characters. These worksheets are great for math centers, morning work, early finishers, substitutes, homework and whole class.

This product includes 4 different monster characters. Each mystery picture character has 7 different worksheets that vary in difficulty which makes them great for differentiated math centers. The first and easiest type is a number match. Students must color each square the correct color based on the rules in the color key. The numbers from 1 to 10 are covered.

The next five types are addition from 1 to 10, subtraction from 1 to 10, multiplication from 1 to 10, division from 1 to 20, and addition and subtraction of three numbers from 1 to 10.

The final type has a blank question section so you can create any math questions that you like. This will allow you to customize this activity to exactly what you are working on with your students. All you have to do is ensure that the answers to the questions you create match the provided answer keys.

Answer keys are included.

Fluently add and subtract within 5.
Add and subtract within 20, demonstrating fluency for addition and subtraction within 10. Use strategies such as counting on; making ten (e.g., 8 + 6 = 8 + 2 + 4 = 10 + 4 = 14); decomposing a number leading to a ten (e.g., 13 - 4 = 13 - 3 - 1 = 10 - 1 = 9); using the relationship between addition and subtraction (e.g., knowing that 8 + 4 = 12, one knows 12 - 8 = 4); and creating equivalent but easier or known sums (e.g., adding 6 + 7 by creating the known equivalent 6 + 6 + 1 = 12 + 1 = 13).
Determine the unknown whole number in an addition or subtraction equation relating three whole numbers. For example, determine the unknown number that makes the equation true in each of the equations 8 + ? = 11, 5 = ▯ - 3, 6 + 6 = ▯.
