This introductory lesson serves as a discussion starting lesson on the idea of more and less. Children have an innate sense of the idea of more and less and this powerpoint explores that. The first couple slides serve as a jumping off point to ask the questions "would you rather have..." with treats they would like to have more of. The slides then go through visual definitions of more and less, as well as, same and equal.
To conclude the lesson teachers will have students generate groups of more, less, or equal by showing the slide pictures and having students draw on whiteboards to see their understanding of the concept.
