Lecture Description:
This Motion Graph Lecture walks students through the basic concepts of dot diagrams, distance vs time graphs, and speed vs time graphs. The basic definitions of distance, speed, and acceleration are included. This lecture is intended to be a resource to introduce the concepts and further expanded upon with practice.
Guided Notes Description:
In these guided notes, learners will be guided through the process of creating displacement, velocity, and acceleration vs time graphs as related to 1-dimensional motion. They will have the opportunity to draw different scenarios of displacement vs time graphs, velocity vs time graphs, and acceleration vs time graphs to describe all different types of 1-dimensional motion. Also included is a summary sheet to help learners relate displacement/velocity/acceleration graphs to one another!
Teacher version included -- can be used as a resource to help differentiate with learners who need more complete notes.
Distance vs Time Graph Practice Description:
In the distance vs time graphing practice sheet, students will practice graphing coordinate pairs, drawing best fit lines and curves and analyzing the type of motion (constant velocity and accelerations). Students will also calculate slopes and determine velocities.
Velocity vs Time Graphing Practice Description:
In this velocity vs time graphing practice sheet, students will practice graphing coordinate pairs, drawing best fit lines analyzing the type of motion (constant velocity and accelerations). Students will also calculate slopes and determine accelerations. students will also calculate areas and determine displacements.
Acceleration vs Time Graphing Practice Description:
In this acceleration vs time graphing practice sheet, students will practice graphing coordinate pairs, drawing best fit lines analyzing the type of motion (constant velocity and accelerations). Students will also calculate area under the acceleration graph to construct a velocity vs time graph AND calculate area under the velocity graph to construct a displacement vs time graph!
