Description

This was a lesson I created when I taught Kindergarten. I used it as one of my formal observations. I believe that it's important to link literature to math for children. My students really enjoyed the lesson. This lesson helps children learn how to add and subtract by 1s. This leson can be differentated for different leveled learners. This lesson is based on the whole-small-whole format. Students are grouped together as a whole. They listen to the story and participate throughout. Then, students break off into their small groups and practice the skill. At the end of the lesson, students are brought back into a whole group and share the number stories they created.

My students loved this resource! They were engaged with this writing activity resource. It didn't take time to prepare for this resource, it was easy to use resource to use in a crunch. I adapted the resource it a little bit to meet the needs of my students.

My students liked the resource, but it was not really what I thought it was when I purchased it. I ended up creating something different using some of what I purchased.

Not much to it. Just a written lesson plan with no resources. It does not have any original ideas.
