Best used with the Move it Math | Spill Cup Mats *FREEBIE

All you need is a set of Solo cups and some counters of any kind! Fill the cups with random numbers of counters (ten or less). Students will have lots of fun roaming around to "spill the cups", an count to discover teen numbers by adding on from the base of ten shown in the ten frame.

Repeat the activity again another day: Use the other activity sheet to try the activity again, but this time using a number sentence to make deeper connections to the skill.

OR

Use the number sentence activity sheet as a follow up to the first activity. Students can create number sentences to go with the corresponding data from the ten frame activity sheet.

Worksheet can go from A-J or A-T if you print double-sided (10 or 20 repetitions of the same activity).

My students love these 'move it' math activities and are always excited when they find out we are doing them! This is a great activity to reach all your learners and keep them moving. They didn't even feel like they were doing work! A few of my students need help with numbers higher than 10 so they referred to a 100's chart. I was able to circulate while they worked and see who understood and was independent with it and who needed my help. So much fun while learning!
