- 6-Scene Storyboard – Students illustrate and summarize key events in chronological order, identifying the main idea of each scene while strengthening sequencing and plot understanding skills.
PART 3 – Character profiles.
- Students need to complete the profiles for the contestants. They need to include a profile picture, a bit about their background, their personality and their talent. There are 6 profiles to complete and can be done in pairs if too much for one student.
PART 4 – Listening
- This is for the song “My Way” sang by Mike near the end (around 1hr 30 mark) first cut the worksheet into 2 (lyrics and exercise) hand out the exercise only and explain each part so it’s clear what they need to do. Listen to the song and repeat if necessary. After everyone has finished you can get the students to swap their work and using the lyrics mark their friend’s work.
This movie is about a theatre owner's attempt to save his theatre with a singing competition that becomes greater than he anticipates even as its finalists' find that their lives will never be the same.

Movies can be used as a follow on from a novel study
- There are a huge number of movies that have been adapted from books which allow for book to movie comparisons or simply as a reward for finishing the book.

- Sometimes students need a change in style, and movies are generally an integral part of a student's life.
Movies provides authentic and varied language
- It's always a good idea to introduce students examples of English in real situations. This includes accents different to your own.
Movies gives a visual context
- This gives the student the ability to interpret the language in full visual context. To see such visual supports as facial expressions and gestures simultaneously.
Variety and flexibility
- Movies can also act as a springboard for follow-up tasks such as discussions, debates on social issues, role plays, reconstructing a dialogue or summarizing.
