Description

This multiplying and dividing multi-digit numbers project-based learning (PBL) workbook uses word problems to engage students in fun math activities! These printable and digital math activities are ideal for 4th-grade and 5th-grade students, or any students who are currently working on multi-digit multiplication and division. In these 10 content-rich math tasks, students embark on an immersive and engaging jungle safari by solving word problems in a fun real-world context. Use this PBL workbook digitally with Google Slides or print out a copy for each student.

This Resource Includes:

  • 10 independent PBL activities (5 fun themes) with a mix of multi-digit multiplication and division word problems and fluency practice.
  • Digital Version: Google Slides Digital Student Workbook (Google Classroom Ready!)- Students type directly on slides WITH a few fun interactive drag-and-drop activities!
  • Printable student workbook in full color and black and white.
  • Answer keys for all student workbook assignments.

*NOTE: This resource is almost exactly the same as the Multiplying and Dividing Decimals Safari in my TPT store- choose the one that best meets the needs of your students, you won't need both!

How to use this resource in your classroom:

  • Print a copy of the workbook for each student, OR assign the Google Slides workbook digitally.
  • Remind students that the instructions for each task are written on the page. Read directions carefully, and complete the immersive tasks.
  • Use this AFTER you have learned multiplication and division of decimals with your students. This is great for independent practice!

Activity Variations:

  • Perfect for independent center activities (digital or printable).
  • Stretch it out over 5 days (one theme of 2 activities per day) or do it all at once. Each theme will take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete (or about 90 min. for the entire workbook).
  • Complete these tasks in partners or small groups to allow for student discussion.
  • Complete tasks in a teacher-led small group to guide students who may be struggling.
  • Leave this workbook for students to do with a substitute teacher!
