Description

This file contains 18 unique Multi-Step Linear Equation with Decimal Coefficients. As the students solve each problem, they decode the saying.

I use this activity with my pre-algebra students to provide some variety to the "practice problem set" assignment. I have found that more students stay engaged through more problems when they have an alternate motivator beyond "do this for classwork points."

There are no "repeating decimals" and only 1 of the problems even goes to two decimals places during the calculation process. All other problems only involve 1 decimal place, so I typically require my students to solve this without a calculator.

This assignment follows Multi-Step with Negative Coefficients and Multi-Step with Fractions.

The 45 minute "teaching time" listed is approximately how long I devote to this activity + introduction. Since it's the 3rd in the series, my students already understand how it works and need less help getting started than with the first one we do.
