Multicultural Writing Unit and Craft

This unit is perfect to highlight the diversity in your classroom.

The writing unit and craft was originally designed for my ESL classroom. It builds writing skills with various scaffolds and showcases the various cultures in your class. It would work well in all settings as a way for students to interact with one another.

Here is what is included:

• A sample completed project
• A template to design a person craft (include country flag on shirt).
• An "I am poem" to honor student identity and culture
• A student interview with questions and response boxes where students can practice social skills while interviewing a friend.

Note: I love this unit because I can use it oftthroughouten the year as students interview different friends! I have also used the craft and poems as bulletin boards that remain on display all year long!
