Description

This is an online or blended learning multimedia study, writing, and presentation sequence of activities for English Language Learners who are studying science. It can also be used for general science classes from grades 4-8. The content focus of this series is about severe wind weather. Other skills learned include:

-Multimedia access to show vocabulary, and descriptions of storms
- collate information from video sources into notes, outlines, and sentence/paragraph descriptions
-relating cause and effect to factual information about formation of severe weather effects
- writing cause and effect sentences
- outline a three-paragraph description from video sources using content specific nouns, action verbs, descriptive adjectives
- write a three-paragraph description from video sources using content specific nouns, action verbs, descriptive adjectives
- make a presentation based on vocabulary and video portrayals of a severe weather event
