This activity can be used during Math Workshop as a choice or facilitated by a teacher. It could also be used in small groups during a whole class lesson.

Materials:

  • Match cards- cut and laminated (optional)

Directions:

Option 1: Lay all cards face down. Students play this game like a typical memory game. They flip two cards at a time, looking for a match. If students make a match, they keep the cards and get another turn. At the end, the student with the most matches wins.

Option 2: Lay all cards face up. Students must match the multiplication sentence with the correct array. Students may take turns, all participate at once, or work together.
