An array is an arrangement of objects in columns and rows. This model helps students understand that multiplication uses equal groups of objects. Progression from repeated addition to multiplication can be understood through an array. Each array document visually shows the arrangement of factors in a basic fact multiplication problem. The multiplication problem of 2 x 6 shows two rows of six objects in each row. Use these documents as a teaching tool and/or as a resource for students to refer to as they memorize multiplication facts. Included in this purchase is a collection of arrays for the factors 2-12.
