Description

Do you have students who could use some focused practice with multiplication facts for 2, 3, and 4? This set has the games and activities you need to give them that extra boost!

Here's what you'll get in this set:

* 24 "What's My Number?" riddle cards that your students will solve by using their knowledge of multiplication facts. Here's an example: "My number is >3X5. My number is <6X3. It’s not 4X4. What’s my number?" So many opportunities for using both multiplication skills and mental math! A student recording page, answer key, and abbreviated multiplication facts chart (focusing on facts for 2, 3, and 4) are also included. The riddles in this set can be purchased separately here.

* A solve and spin bingo game: players solve a multiplication fact for 2, 3, or 4 and then spin to determine which column the answer must be in. There are 30 bingo cards, so you'll have lots of options for using this - small groups, math rotation, or whole class!

* Four easy prep one page four in a row games: times 2, times 3, times 4, and a mixed practice game with all of the facts.

How can you use these resources?

* Focused practice as you introduce segments of multiplication facts to all of your students

* Extra practice for students who may be struggling as they attempt to master the facts

* Challenge activities for younger students who are eager to begin to learn the facts

* Practice as a part of small group lessons

* RTI and math intervention lessons

* Tutoring sessions

* Activities to use with a buddy class

Interpret products of whole numbers, e.g., interpret 5 × 7 as the total number of objects in 5 groups of 7 objects each. For example, describe a context in which a total number of objects can be expressed as 5 × 7.
Apply properties of operations as strategies to multiply and divide. Examples: If 6 × 4 = 24 is known, then 4 × 6 = 24 is also known. (Commutative property of multiplication.) 3 × 5 × 2 can be found by 3 × 5 = 15, then 15 × 2 = 30, or by 5 × 2 = 10, then 3 × 10 = 30. (Associative property of multiplication.) Knowing that 8 × 5 = 40 and 8 × 2 = 16, one can find 8 × 7 as 8 × (5 + 2) = (8 × 5) + (8 × 2) = 40 + 16 = 56. (Distributive property.)
Fluently multiply and divide within 100, using strategies such as the relationship between multiplication and division (e.g., knowing that 8 × 5 = 40, one knows 40 ÷ 5 = 8) or properties of operations. By the end of Grade 3, know from memory all products of two one-digit numbers.
