✖️ Multiplication Facts Solve & Draw | Creative Math Practice Worksheets

Make multiplication fact practice more engaging with this Solve & Draw math activity! This resource is a creative alternative to traditional color‑by‑number worksheets, allowing students to add details to a drawing based on math prompts instead of simply coloring preset spaces.

With this no‑prep, print‑and‑go resource, students strengthen multiplication fact fluency while expressing creativity and staying motivated through an interactive drawing experience.

Perfect for math centers, review, early finishers, sub plans, homework, or informal assessment.

✏️ How the Solve & Draw Activity Works

Students solve multiplication fact problems, then follow specific drawing prompts connected to their answers. Rather than coloring by number, students:

  • Add objects, details, or features to a picture
  • Choose how each prompt is illustrated
  • Create a unique final drawing that shows understanding

Because students are guided on what to draw—but not how to draw it—this activity:

✔️ Encourages creativity and student choice
✔️ Works for all drawing ability levels
✔️ Is more open‑ended and engaging than traditional color‑by‑number activities
Students can complete drawings using just a pencil or pen, making this activity low‑supply and accessible. Optional crayons or colored pencils may be used but are not required.

My students were not as engaged in this as I thought they would be. They were not strong with their multiplication facts and that deterred them from trying.

This was an awesome resource that allows the children to not only improve their tables recall but requires them to use thinking skills and creativity ! It became a weekly task integrated into the maths program. Graphics used were extremely well designed and engaged the students.

Interpret products of whole numbers, e.g., interpret 5 × 7 as the total number of objects in 5 groups of 7 objects each. For example, describe a context in which a total number of objects can be expressed as 5 × 7.
Fluently multiply and divide within 100, using strategies such as the relationship between multiplication and division (e.g., knowing that 8 × 5 = 40, one knows 40 ÷ 5 = 8) or properties of operations. By the end of Grade 3, know from memory all products of two one-digit numbers.
