Students practice making arrays, groupings, word problems, and fact family triangles!!!! When they are finished, they have fun.. interactive... swirly cards to practice multiplication alone or with a partner.
(For fun: allow partners to play a game of War with their cards).
Instructions:
-Make copies of pages for each
student, as you introduce the
factors to the class
-On the 0’s cards:
Students create their own
random-personalized picture
-On the 1’s- 6’s cards:
Students use the words to
make an array or grouping
(you decide).
-On the 7’s-12’s cards:
Students create a word problem
or fact family triangle
(Again, you decide!)
-Have students decorate the front,
cut out cards, and then put the
answer to the problem on the back.
Take into consideration:
**For sturdy cards, use card stock.
**When putting the answers on the back of regular paper: Tell students to lightly write the answer on the back with a pencil. Other wise, you will see the answer through the card.
