Description

Multiplication Mats help students in grades 2 through 5 practice fine motor skills while also learning multiplication skills with a fun hands-on approach. By using playdough students can visualize and manipulate groups of things and see concrete examples of what multiplication really means.

  • This 89-page resource includes everything you need to teach a hands-on approach to multiplication as repeated addition or groups of. Cards go from 1 to 10 times tables.

  • Laminate the pages and have your students use playdough or small manipulatives to show their multiplication.

  • Have students work out their times tables, assess their progress, and reward their growth.

This fun activity is great for math centers, early finishers, enrichment, skills review, and pretty much any time you want students to work kinesthetically.

This was a great way to teach multiplication in a hands-on way for my students. We didn't use playdough as recommended but beads instead for counting.
