Write your own multiplication multi-step word problems!! Kids love writing their own math problems. I let them write their own problems, and then I create a formative assessment using all problems that kids in the class wrote. They really enjoy it. The top of the sheet allows students to show how to solve the multiplication problem with 3 strategies.
