Description

***This resource highlights 2-digit x 1-digit multiplication.

Use this resource to assist students in learning multi-digit multipication strategies involving decomposing numbers (specifically, decomposing by place value). There is a notes page included, outlining 2 different strategies (one using an open array, and one without). I use this to introduce the strategies, then have students keep the notes in their math binders.

***16 task cards are also included with a recording page for student work.

Ideas for task cards:

*Post around the room, have students choose 8 cards to complete as practice after going over the notes page together (or have students complete all the cards!)

*Use as part of a math station

*Use in small groups for extra practice

*Use as part of a scoot activity

This is a Google resource that is fully EDITABLE to adjust as you need to!
