Description

This is the unit and activities that I use for grade 4 multiplication patterns, chapter 2 in the textbook that my school uses just after place value. There are 11 lessons total that include mini lessons, guided practice, independent practice, handouts and vocabulary terms.

There are various multiplication patterns including estimation, repeated addition, halving & doubling, using addition and subtraction, and the box method (area model). I try to make the presentation very teacher friendly with teacher prompts. Words in red are vocabulary and titles that I ask students to write down in their math notebooks.

The final two slides connect to the common core state standards for grade 4. I hope that you find the resource helpful!
