Description

Enjoy this FREE set of math task cards that have your 3rd graders solving 20 beginner multiplication problems (x2, x5, x10) in order to collect letters to complete a cryptogram poem.

Tape the cards around the room (optional) and let students circulate, solving the cards in any order. Once all the math problems are solved, students will have all the letters they need to complete this poem:

Bristol the cat is oh so sweet,

With sparkling eyes and fuzzy feet.

Pat his head and stroke his fur,

He'll thank you with a gentle purr.

You will recognize Bristol from my monthly Spiral Daily Math series, where he stars in the October Edition. He’s back with more fun (and math practice) for your students!

My students loved using this resource to practice multiplication facts. I posted the task cards around the room and the kids moved around solving the problems.

Fluently multiply and divide within 100, using strategies such as the relationship between multiplication and division (e.g., knowing that 8 × 5 = 40, one knows 40 ÷ 5 = 8) or properties of operations. By the end of Grade 3, know from memory all products of two one-digit numbers.
