Description

Are you looking for a fun way to engage your students in math review while integrating some fun music? Then look no further! This product allows students to review essential third-grade MULTIPLICATION and DIVISION skills in an interactive and engaging way. They will have so much fun. It's played like cakewalk or musical chairs (without the elimination part). While the music is playing, students are moving around the room. Once the music stops, they focus their attention on the board to see the question they are answering. Once they've answered, you can reveal the answer, if a student is on the answer card to the question, they get a point.

The game requires minimal prep. This comes with a recording sheet or you can have your students record their answers on a whiteboard or communicator. Whatever works for you! This is perfect for 3rd graders but can be used to help struggling 4th graders.

The music used can be any music you have access to. I use Spotify, but if your district blocks it, you can use iTunes, Apple Music, or anything!

In order to play this game, students must be able to:

  • Solve multiplication and division facts.
  • Identify the unknown product, factor, quotient, dividend, or divisor in an equation.
  • Properties of multiplication.

Interpret products of whole numbers, e.g., interpret 5 × 7 as the total number of objects in 5 groups of 7 objects each. For example, describe a context in which a total number of objects can be expressed as 5 × 7.
Interpret whole-number quotients of whole numbers, e.g., interpret 56 ÷ 8 as the number of objects in each share when 56 objects are partitioned equally into 8 shares, or as a number of shares when 56 objects are partitioned into equal shares of 8 objects each. For example, describe a context in which a number of shares or a number of groups can be expressed as 56 ÷ 8.
Use multiplication and division within 100 to solve word problems in situations involving equal groups, arrays, and measurement quantities, e.g., by using drawings and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem.
