Multiplication and Division Strategies

Description

In this activity, students practice using multiple strategies to solve multiplication and division word problems. They must draw a picture to solve the first problem, use a number line to solve the second, use repeated addition or subtraction to solve the third, and then choose a fourth method to solve the last (skip counting, box method also called matrix method, or traditional algorithm). This helps kids represent the idea of equal groups in multiple ways to reinforce the different strategies that they have learned.
