Description

Word problems with multiplicative comparisons can be tough, especially when solving for an unknown factor. To support students of various levels, the first 8 cards are guided with the comparison models included, and the last 16 cards are blank for students to draw their own. The self-checking feature of the QR code makes this the perfect math center!

They can also be repurposed later for a gallery walk. Post them around the room, copy the recording sheet, and let your students get to work! Being able to repurpose task cards is just another reason to stock up on these resources.

What's included:

✅ 24 Task Cards (#'s 1-8 have bar model templates drawn, #'s 9-24 are blank)

✅ Black and White Version (print on colored card stock)

✅ Recording Sheet + Answer Key

✅ Tip Sheet (includes 7 effective ways to use these task cards)

Note: These are multi-step comparison problems wheres students are given the total and must solve for an unknown factor. This is different from basic multiplicative comparisons where students solve for a missing product. If you're looking for the more basic version, this set Multiplicative Comparisons Task Cards is what you need!

Task cards can be used for:

✦ Small group instruction

✦ Exit tickets

✦ Whole group review

✦ Game questions

✦ Gallery walks

✦ Quiz-Quiz-Trade

This is a great resource to practice multiplicative comparisons. The only thing I wish I had noticed before purchasing was that these task cards all ask for a total in all, where I had just introduced figuring out the longer row only. I had purchased these in hopes of using them for my students to review with a sub, but I hadn't covered the concept of finding the longer row AND the single box together. I will use them in the future but I was not able to use them as I had intended.
