Description

Let kindness multiply in your classroom as your students collaborate to create a large Pink Shirt Mosaic!

Harness the motivating power of collaboration while maintaining individual accountability! Every student’s worksheet is different, so no one can copy yet students can help each other—a great way to build a positive math culture in your classroom! View the product preview to see a sample worksheet from each of the six versions included.

How does this work? "Calculate + Colour + Cut + Combine!"

The mosaic consists of 30 sections (5 by 6). Students each receive a 6-by-6 grid of 36 multiplication problems. They use their answers to colour-by-number the squares. The grids are cut out and combined to collectively form a large whole-class pink shirt "Be Kind" mosaic! You will appear to be a wizard and the end result will look great on your wall! Your students will be proud, and it will be a great talking piece on parent night!

Six Versions Included!

You can differentiate the difficulty for individual students, as worksheets can be mix 'n matched to create the same mosaic:

  1. Three-digit × two-digit
  2. Single-digit (up to 9x9)
  3. Up to 12×12
  4. two-digit × two-digit
  5. one-digit × tens value
  6. four-digit × one digit

INCLUDED in the zip folder:

◾ Both.pdf and editable .docx formats for all six versions

◾ Full class sets of 30 worksheets (Every single sheet is unique!) for each of the six versions

◾ Complete answer keys / mosaic guides provided

Detailed Teaching Tips included for smooth implementation in your class

◾ Each worksheet has the answers in a scrambled list at the bottom allowing students to self-check their work

If you like this product, be sure the check out the whole Collaborative Math Mosaic directory, sorted by topic!

The student buy-in factor is HUGE with these worksheets; they all want to see the finished picture come together! Leave the picture a secret or show it for motivation… it’s your call.

All my collaborative math mosaics use standard pencil-crayon colours found in the Crayola 24 pack. For best results, use the exact colour name match, colour darkly, and stick to one colouring medium (i.e. don't mix crayons with markers with pencil crayons...). Perhaps a class set of pencil crayons would be a fun math department investment!

Feedback, suggestions, and frontline stories are always welcomed!
