Description

This foldable organizes examples for multiplying by 1- and 2- digit numbers. There are 3 similar options - which may strictly provide practice, another that has room for steps, and a third with a spot for students to summarize.

Perfect for interactive math notebooks! I use this type of assignment during whole group guided instruction, but it also works great for intervention, small group, centers, or during a tutoring session.

This download includes a print + go PDF version, as well as the editable PowerPoint file. Download the preview to take a closer look at the content and examples included.

Directions + an answer key is included!

Met expectations
Great value
Standards-aligned
I used this foldable with my 5th graders to introduce both 1- and 2-digit multiplication, and it was a huge help, kids got a clear roadmap of the algorithm steps, the option to show work or summarizing space gave flexibility, and the editable format meant I could tweak examples for struggles vs. stretch students. It shone during guided instruction and centers, and the answer key saved me prep time. If you're looking to move past just 1-digit multiplication, this one makes the leap smoother and more concrete.

I teach a pull-out math class for middle school students with severe learning disabilities in the area of math. We included this in our back-to-school review lesson for refreshers on how these basic math skills worked. We needed to remind them conceptually of how this concept "plays out" so they can repeat it when we start to do things like add variable, positive/negative integers, or fractions to the mix. We did not use every part of this resources, a lot if it was just "too elementary" for this age group. But some we did do as a "joke" but also because it helped. The kids got into when we did it as a group and made fun it, in a way.
