Description
Get your students out of their seats with this fun decimal multiplication activity! In this 4 Corners Game with a twist, students work together in groups to multiply decimals and try to stay in the game! Who will be the last one standing??
Reasons to love this multiplying decimals game:
- It gets students up and moving around the room.
- It gets students working together on problems.
- It's not a race to see who's the fastest (accuracy is more important than speed!)
- It's flexible! You can add or delete slides, make up additional rules, etc. to make it fun and work for your classroom.
This activity includes 15 questions. You can add your own questions or delete any you do not want to use.
How it works:
1) Make a copy of the activity in Google Slides™. Make any changes you'd like before using.
2) Print labels for the corners and place them around your room.
3) Students pick a corner and answer the first question as a group. (I recommend having groups use a small whiteboard to show their work.)
4) After all groups have shown you their answer, show the next slide. This slide will show the correct answer and will also show which corner has been eliminated. Groups with incorrect answers will also be eliminated.
5) Students that are still in the game pick a new corner and repeat! You can play the game until only one student is left, a set number are left, or however long you choose.
