How To Play:
Battleboats is a Battleship-style game played on Google Sheets, where the objective is to sink all the boats by solving math problems. The game is played on two grids: the Battle Grid and the Answer Grid.
Here's how to play:
Select Coordinates
On the Battle Grid, choose a letter from the “Pick Column” dropdown menu and a number from the “Pick Row” dropdown menu. This pair forms the coordinates you want to target. The corresponding cell on the Battle Grid will be highlighted in yellow.
Solve the Math Problem
On the Answer Grid, find the math problem located in the green-highlighted cell that matches the selected coordinates. Solve the problem and type your answer into the highlighted cell on the Answer Grid. Press the return/enter key to submit.
Check Your Result
If your answer is correct and there is a boat in the targeted cell, an “H” icon will appear on the Battle Grid, indicating a hit.
If your answer is correct but there is no boat in the cell, a “C” icon will appear, indicating a miss.
If your answer is incorrect, a “W” icon will appear on the Battle Grid at the chosen coordinates.
Sink All the Boats
There are 5 different types of boats, each requiring a specific number of hits to be sunk. Keep track of the boats still in play, displayed below the Answer Grid. Once a boat is sunk, it will be crossed out.
Continue Playing
Continue selecting coordinates and solving problems until all the boats have been sunk. Be sure to select the correct grid and input the answers accurately. Allow a brief moment for the game to register each action after an input.
