Description
During this activity, students will answer 10 questions on multiplying rational numbers (integers, fractions + decimals). They will walk around the classroom searching for their answers. The answers will help students discover a quote. This activity helps students practice multiplying rational numbers in a fun + engaging manner - plus students will enjoy being up and out of their seats.
To begin, print the answer choices + a word scramble for each student. The blank work paper isn’t necessary, but helps to keep student work organized. Cut out the potential answer choices and post them around the classroom. There are a total of 20 options, but only 10 of the answer choices will be used.
Students will begin by solving one of the problems (going in order is not necessary). Once they have a solution, students will walk around the class looking for their answer. Once it is located, they will write the word that corresponds with their answer on their worksheet. Once all 10 problems have been completed, students will be able to unscramble the words to form a popular quote.
