Description
In this lesson, students will learn to multiply numbers using an array. Students will multiply one-digit by up to four digits, and two digit by two digit numbers.
Multiplying with arrays gives students a better understanding of the concept of multiplication, and of place values.
Models and manipulative materials can help make multiplication with integers more tangible. They provide a visual representation of the algorithms we use to perform these operations and help us see how the algorithms relate to what is actually happening with the numbers.

Great product!
Thanks!
The students loved this activity. It really helped them to understand multiplication.
Used this in my 3rd and 4th grade classes, and it was an excellent resource.

CCSS4.NBT.B.5
Multiply a whole number of up to four digits by a one-digit whole number, and multiply two two-digit numbers, using strategies based on place value and the properties of operations. Illustrate and explain the calculation by using equations, rectangular arrays, and/or area models.
