Description
This Power Point walks through using the distributive property to solve 2 digit by 1 digit and 3 digit by 1 digit multiplication problems. With each mouse click, the next step in the process is revealed. There are 4 slides which demonstrate the process using arrays. The four examples with arrays are all 2 digits multiplied by 1 digit. There are four more 2 digit by 1 digit slides that illustrate the process without an array. There are three slides that illustrate 3 digit by 1 digit problems. Along with the power point, I've included a guide that I copy for the students and they complete as we progress through the slide show. I've also included a worksheet for independent practice. CCSS: 4.NBT.5
