Multiplying to the Top: Multiplication Timed Test Data Chart
Share

Description

Are you looking to increase your students' fact fluency?
Are you having trouble keeping track and recording all of your students' scores?
Looking for a way to organize the information for quick access during parent/teacher conferences and data analysis meetings?
Want students to take responsibility and understand the progress of their learning?

The Multiplying to the Top Chart is your solution. This chart allows students and teachers to easily keep track of progress on 100-question timed multiplication tests. With this chart stapled into a file folder, the data collected from the timed tests is easily stored so that all information (past and future tests and scores) stays organized and easily accessible.

How does it work?

Students take a 100 question timed test on a consistent basis (every day, every other day, or once a week) with a different set of 100 questions each test. Set a consistent time limit for completing the test - 4-5 minutes. After students complete the test, have them switch tests and read through the answers so they can be corrected. Then, hand out small stickers so that the students can record their own scores on their chart above the date.

Each time the students take the test they can pull out their folder, grab their test, look at their previous score, and then try to beat it.

This chart is helpful for recording fluency scores, showing improvement, and influencing students to improve. It is a fun, visual way for students to see their growth and gives them some responsibility in keeping track of their scores.

It also can help with goal setting. After each test, have students put a mark on their chart where they would like to score the next time they take the test.
